Make sure you add Khada Masalas like clove, cardamom and cinnamon to thick recipe, as they help in giving the dish its signature aroma and infuse the right kind of flavours in it. This Fish Korma recipe also contains curd, cashew paste and raisin paste, which gives the dish its rich and creamy texture. Since it is a Korma, we have added only 1 cup of water to make the curry, as Korma Curry base should always be towards the thicker side. Ingredients of Fish Korma
- 500 gm fish fillets
- 3 onion
- 2 green cardamom
- 1/2 tablespoon garlic paste
- 1/2 tablespoon green chilli
- 4 tablespoon yoghurt (curd)
- 1 tablespoon crushed to paste raisins
- 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
- rice bran oil as required
- 2 tablespoon lime juice
- 4 clove
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 1/2 tablespoon ginger paste
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- 1 tablespoon cashew nut paste
- 2 tablespoon ghee
- salt as required
How to make Fish Korma
Step 1 Marinate the fishAdd all the fish fillets to a bowl. Sprinkle salt as per taste along with lime juice. Mix well to coat the pieces. Set it aside for 10 minutes.
Step 2 Fry the fish filletsNow heat 2 tbsp oil in a non-stick pan. Add the fish fillets to it and shallow fry until golden brown patches appear on them. Once cooked, take them out on a plate.
Step 3 Fry the onionsNow take 1 onion and cut it into very thin slices. Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pan. Add onion slices to it and fry until golden brown in colour. Once fried, take out the slices in a bowl and set aside for later usage.
Step 4 Saute the spicesNow heat some oil in a pan. Add clove, cinnamon, cardamom and saute for a minute. Now add 2 chopped onions and saute them until they turn golden in colour. Lastly, add ginger paste, garlic paste, green chilli paste, coriander powder along with salt. Mix and saute for 2 more minutes.
Step 5 Add curd, cashew and raisin pasteNow add curd to the pan and give a good mix. Saute for about 6-8 minutes. Now add cashew paste and raisin paste. Mix and saute for another 2-3 minutes.
Step 6 Make a curryAdd 1/4 cup water to the pan and mix well. Saute the paste for about 5 minutes. Now add 1 cup of water to the paste and bring to a boil. This will form a nice and thick curry.
Step 7 Add fried fishNow add fried fish pieces to the curry paste along with garam masala and fried onions. Cook for one more minute and turn off the heat.
Step 8 Ready to be servedYour Fish Korma is now ready to be served. Pair it up with Rice or Chapati and enjoy.
Tips
If you wish, you can even deep fry the fish pieces to give them a crispier texture.
